Compare Business Electricity Prices Across the UK

Your electricity contract could be costing far more than it should. We compare business electricity prices from major UK suppliers and negotiate a deal built around your usage — free, with no obligation.

Why UK business electricity prices vary so much

Unlike domestic energy, business electricity has no price cap. Every supplier prices your contract individually, based on your annual consumption, your meter profile, your credit history and how far ahead you buy. Two neighbouring shops can easily pay different unit rates for the same electrons.

On top of the wholesale cost, your bill carries a daily standing charge, the Climate Change Levy on every unit you use, and network charges that differ by region. When a fixed contract ends without a renewal in place, suppliers can roll you onto deemed or out-of-contract rates — often the most expensive tariffs they sell. That silent rollover is where most overpayment happens.

Unit rate (p/kWh)

The price per kilowatt-hour you actually consume. This is where negotiation makes the biggest difference.

Standing charge

A fixed daily fee for being connected, regardless of usage. Small but it adds up over a year.

Climate Change Levy

A government tax charged on every unit of business electricity. It applies whatever supplier you choose.

Contract length

Longer fixed terms usually secure lower rates, but lock you in. We match the term to your plans.

What we compare for you

Send us a recent bill — your MPAN lets us pull your exact usage history — and we do the rest. We compare fixed-rate contracts from major UK business suppliers against your current deal, including renewal quotes from your existing supplier, so you see the full picture side by side.

We handle single-site shops and multi-site portfolios alike. If you run several premises, we can align contract end dates so everything renews together, which usually strengthens your negotiating position.

Send your bill

One recent electricity bill is enough. Your MPAN and usage history do the heavy lifting.

We compare the market

We gather quotes from major UK suppliers and benchmark them against your current rates.

You pick the winner

Plain-English comparison, no jargon. Accept a quote and we handle the switch — your power never drops.

Business electricity FAQs

How are business electricity prices different from domestic prices?
Business electricity is priced per contract, not by a regulated price cap. Suppliers quote a unit rate (pence per kWh) and a daily standing charge based on your usage profile, credit position and contract length, which is why two similar businesses can pay very different amounts.
What is a deemed or out-of-contract electricity rate?
If your fixed contract ends and you have not agreed a new one, your supplier can move you onto deemed or out-of-contract rates, which are typically far higher than negotiated fixed rates. This is one of the most common reasons businesses overpay.
What is an MPAN and why do you need it?
The MPAN (Meter Point Administration Number) is the unique 21-digit reference for your electricity supply point, found on your bill. It lets suppliers pull your exact usage history so quotes are based on real data rather than estimates.
When should I start comparing business electricity prices?
Ideally 3 to 6 months before your current contract ends. Most suppliers let you agree a new contract well in advance, so you lock in a rate before renewal deadlines or price rises.
Does switching electricity supplier interrupt my supply?
No. Switching is an administrative transfer between suppliers over the same wires. Your power stays on throughout, and the changeover is handled for you once you accept a quote.
